Compared with the previous M Ultra, it has changes to the standard switches, connection area, and additional button layout. It comes with Kailh Shadow Hunting switches and a cover to hold the cable in place at the USB connection. It also has an additional button on the left pinky side. With hot-swappable switches, an OLED display, 2 USB-C connection locations, and an EXT port, it offers a configuration to consider whether you plan to use the standard input components or replace them.

Features

CNC-Machined Aluminum Alloy Body

Made with a CNC-machined aluminum alloy body finished with anodizing. A Premium Leverless Controller That Satisfies the Desire to Own It

The “HautePad M Ultra Gen2” is a leverless controller that makes generous use of high-quality CNC aluminum alloy, achieving a premium feel and rigidity hard to imagine at its price. Its moderate weight provides outstanding stability across all playing styles.

As an upgraded version of the M Ultra, its biggest highlight is the adoption of Kailh Shadow Hunting as the default key switch. Haute42 has often used switches with longer travel and a heavier feel, so finally equipping this model as standard with a nimble switch ready for immediate use is a major step forward. We hope this trend spreads to other models as well.

Another improvement is the cover at the USB connection, which makes it less likely to come loose. On the other hand, the button's move to the left pinky position may lead some people to feel that the previous layout, which could be operated with the right index finger, was easier to use. There are also reports that the keycaps come off easily during play, so compatibility with Shadow Hunting requires attention.

Overall, the “HautePad M Ultra Gen2” combines definite improvements with some issues, yet its finish exceeds its price and strongly appeals to the desire to own it.

Premium feel and rigidity without creaking, thanks to the CNC aluminum alloy body
Outstanding stability from its approximately 1kg weight.
