  • The glossy top panel has a premium look, but fingerprints and skin oils tend to show
  • Cable storage and internal maintenance require opening the case by removing screws with a screwdriver

Overall Review

A no-compromise high-end model for players pursuing victory

The “Qanba Q7 Obsidian 2” is an arcade stick designed for use in competitive play. The reliability of its Sanwa parts, along with the stability and rigidity of its case, provides peace of mind and a solid foundation for performance.

On the other hand, this controller’s focus on “durability” brings some inconvenience in terms of maintenance and portability. Storing the cable or replacing internal parts requires opening the case by removing screws with a screwdriver, which may feel like an extra step for users who frequently carry it around and set it up, or who want to enjoy customizing the inside with ease. However, this is not a flaw in quality; it reflects a design philosophy that prioritizes the unity and rigidity of the case. The design seems intended to eliminate even the slightest movement during play, prioritizing this over the convenience of easy opening and closing.

In conclusion, Obsidian 2 is one of the best choices for players who want to reach new heights. Its true value will be clear to players who seek the best performance in a complete, out-of-the-box package over convenience or ease of customization. Once you have it, it should become a trusted partner through many long and demanding battles.
